Walk with God (July 11 Devotional)
Scripture Meditation
Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.
Genesis 5:22-24
Today’s Thought
Genesis 5 presents us with a genealogy from Adam to Noah that follows the same basic pattern: he was born, he had kids, he died. All of them follow this structure except for one. Enoch’s life carries two distinctions. First, it points out that he walked with God. Second, he didn’t die; he was taken away by God.
One thing separated Enoch from everyone else. He walked with God. He had a solid, deep relationship with God, and that distinguished him from everyone else. Are you walking with God? How is your walk distributing you from the established pattern of everyday life?
Prayer
Father, help me to truly walk with you every minute of every day. Let your presence in my life make me shine in a different light.
